Episode 2: Gibraltar and the Falklands (part 1 of 3)
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War and our next three podcasts look at the 65 hour conversion of the SS Uganda into a hospital ship and the work carried out at HM Dockyard. The S.S. Uganda sailed from no. 2 dock at 9 a.m. on Monday 19th April 1982. A special plaque paying tribute to the dockyard workers involved in the task has been organised by the Gibraltar Heritage Trust and the Friends of Gibraltar Heritage. Joining Alice Mascarenhas is Trustee Ian Balestrino.
